Thank God its a new year

I'm no good without you 4,026
Okay, 2016 is gone and thank God for that. For the first time in three years I didn't lose a family member. My dad's dog Samantha was a close call. She has a very hard time walking but he refuses to let her go. I'm glad she's still here but I hate to see her surfer.
I didn't lose anyone personally but it seemed as though 2016 wanted to take all of the good memories from my childhood with all of the celebrities who passed. I was so happy to see 2017 ushered in to hopefully break the curse.
Again last year I strived to write 250k words and again I failed only writing about 152k. What can I say, I'm a slow writer. This year my goal will be only 200k. Who knows, maybe I'll make it. To those who write that many words in one story, my hat is off to you. I will this year, try my hand at original fic.

New year, new goals
Jan. 2nd, 2018 02:38 amIt seems as though the past few years I’ve started out the year grieving over a family members death and this year is no different. I lost my sister almost three weeks ago and this death has hit me harder than the others. I don’t know if it’s because she was my big sister or because we were of the same generation. Add that to being sick for most of last year and it all takes a toll.
With that being said, I’m taking a new direction this year and am not going to try for a specific word count for J2 this year as I won’t be writing much, J2 that is. This year I’m going to focus on original stories and self publishing. I have been writing and have one book in a series completed, a second waiting for a rewrite and a third halfway through the first draft for a total of almost 200k words.
I want to thankmasja_17 and yonku for all of their help while dealing with personal issues of their own. I’d also like to thank meus_venator for answering random questions for me.
Happy New year everyone and wish me luck!
